Papertrey Make It Monday

Haven't done a Monday card in a long time... Text Style paper on Kraft, Spring Moss and Fresh Snow ink, along with a white embossing powder. I'm too lazy to go back to the attic to see what Papertrey stamp sets I used, but if you want me add them to the post just let me know.

Make It Monday: Layering pigment and dye inks

Today's Make It Monday video is about stamping over Pigment ink with dye ink.  Worked well, but you really need big stamped areas to pick up the pattern of the stamped pigment ink.  Of course, it had to be a baby card!

About the baby cards- as the hospital's birth rate hd dropped a wee bit, I am only making 9 baby cards per week instead of 10, lol lol lol!!
Stamps:  PTI Watercolor and Flourishes, Studio G sentiment
Inks: Fresh Snow, Hibiscus Burst, Berry Sorbet, Raspberry Fizz, Smokey Shadow
Paper:  PTI Stamper's Select, Smokey Shadow, SU's Pretty in Pink
Embellishment:  Recollections Rhinestone Swirl

Playing with Papertrey: Timed Challenge

Today's PTI challenge was to select 7 items within 7 minutes, then create a card within 17 minutes- Here's what I came up with!
My 7 items:
  1. Aqua Mist paper
  2. dotted AM printed paper
  3. gingham AM printed paper
  4. Versafine Black Onyx ink
  5. Bitty Baby Blessings stamp set
  6. Sky Blue Spica Pen
  7. Spellbinders die
The glue was 'free', lol!

I think we were working with 'picnic rules', since the card had to be cut with some kind of tool, and the sentiment was cut apart with scissors. For me, both of those things were done prior to today,so I ignored them in the count-

Sorta like the deserted island question, eh?

Playing Baby with Make It Monday

I am happy to be back in the swing of playing with Papertrey. I never stopped making baby cards for the hospital, I just didn't show them to you- I wasn't able to see the entire video today (issues with wobbly WIFI), but I think I got the drift.

All products are Papertrey except for the Cuttlebug folder.

I didn't layer up the tiny 'baby' words, they were too small. I only layered up the plane and trail. I hand cut the clouds from PTI felt. Oh, and the coloring was done with Spica pens.

Make It Monday

Here's my take on this week's MIM!

Other than the heart dies (Spellbinders), all of the products are Papertrey.  The center of the heart is the  Quatrefoil Die .  The Spellbinders dies did not work well to make the outer frame; I had to piece a little bit.

Wait, I lied.  I sponged Versamark around the edges of the heart layer, and added some of Martha Stewart's fine white glitter.

Fun to do as an exercise, but not a technique to do very often, lol!!

'Cheesy' Baby Cards

Yesterday my daughter and I were in Christmas Tree Shops. They had these party invites, 8 for $1.00. My kind of price, but the DD thought the glitter made them 'cheesy'. Huh. I thought I could turn them into baby cards... Here's the boy version...

I just love silk ribbon, sigh.  That's PTI's Spring Rain as the card base with a base layer of Memory Box paper on top.  The sentiment was a part of the party invite.

A close-up of the glitter on the purchased card.

The inside...

The girl version- do you see how the baby hands form a heart?  Oh my, so sweet...not cheesy at all, lol!!

The girl version uses PTI's Autumn Rose as the card layer, with a piece of printed paper from a new 6 x 6 pad I also got at Christmas Tree Shop.   Autumn Rose ribbon.

PINK!

Can you believe I am here playing? Right time? Right place?

I have a new laptop and the google blog program is new since I last played.  We'll have to suffer through!

That is Hibiscus Burst ink on Sweet Blush paper.  Card base is Amuse.

Card base, felt and ribbon are Autumn Rose.
