Buttton-y Blog Hop

Yoo Hoo!! See the Papertrey Blog Hop Logo here!!!! Ok, I can't find it and I am late getting the post up, so forgive me!!

I have been stringing beads lately, and have been wondering how buttons would work. I know I have seen button jewelry, so I know it will work. Driving home today I thought that I really wanted to make some button earrings, but I didn't have time.

Hope this little string of buttons gives you ideas!!

That's the new Green Boutique papers from Papertrey, along with New Leaf Buttons and some wee little yellow ones I have. The edge punch is Martha Stewart; I just glued on a narrow strip of the paper under the edge. What fun!!

Hope you like it!!

Papertrey Quick Baby card!

Oh my Lordy, what happened to March? Someone stole it away!!

Actually, I have just been a bad blogger~ sorry about that! It's not that I haven't made any cards, lol, I just can't find the time to photograph and edit them!

So here's a little something! Papertrey shimmer blue paper, the tin type pattern from the Pretty Pastels paper pack, and the bear from the Baby Button Bits stamp set (with a little heart brad instead of a button!). I colored the bear with Prisma markers, but used a SU marker in Blush Blossom for his feeties and face; it's just a nice soft skin color, I think. The sentiment is also from the Baby Button Bits set; it really says Welcome, little baby bee; I just cut the 'bee' off of the stamp. I used one of the Nestability scallop squares to cut the layer behind the bear, the die worked better than a punch on the shimmer cardstock.

Waltzing with Babies!

Aren't these sweet L'il Buddies?? If you are like me, you own a bunch of Waltzingmouse stamp sets and haven't inked them up yet- why is that? For whatever reason, I find them a little intimidating!! Maybe because Claire does incredible things with them, and I cower in the corner afraid to try? Well, behold my first attempt with the L'il buddies!

The card started it's life as a 4 x 6 baby birth announcement. I got 8 of them for $7.00, just less than $1.00 each. With envelopes, it made them in my price range for hospital baby cards. The little animals around the edges were just too cute to pass up! I placed a piece of perfectly matched alphabet paper in the space meant for a photo, then stamped the WMS images and layered them on top.

I wish I had taken a close-up for you, maybe if you click and make it bigger you will see how I used the Copic blender on the lamb and made the curly hair! The edge under the animals is from Claire's Off Beat Backgrounds set; I just added the wee little black dot to match the border on the announcement card. The ribbon tied around the edge of the card is one of the kinds that looks great on the spool, but when you try and use it drives you crazy- single sided and only one side up!!

Storm damage update: Turns out trees falling on cars is an act of God, whether I believe in God or not. If you think you might have some Acts of God around your car, you need to add them to your insurance policy. Oh well. But this is even better- on the tops of some poles are insulators that have liquid PCB's in them- highly toxic! When the pole came down, those little rascals poured out, ran all over my brothers driveway and down the hill towards his well. Was a bit humorous when the HAZMAT truck came! Remember the movie Ghostbusters?? Yeah, just like that!! So, they dug up and replaced part of his driveway, but told him not to drink the water... you have got to be kidding?!? They will come test his water soon, and if need be, drill him a new well. Who'da thought the electric company would be drilling a well? They didn't offer to pay for bottled water, though...
